We are a community that is spread across the Costa Brava and the UK (if not the world.) As a way of keeping in touch and feeling that we belong to each other and support one another please use these prayers in your own way.
If you would like one of us to pray with you or for you, please get in touch.
Prayer for the Anglican Church in the Costa Brava Heavenly Father, thank you for calling into being the community of faith that is the Anglican Church in the Costa Brava. Give wisdom to its leaders and to the Diocesan authorities. Provide all that is necessary for its development and growth. And may your Holy Spirit so work in each of us that we become all we can be, in and for Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen Prayer in the Morning The night is past and the day is open before us. Let us ask God to be with us and guide us. Dear God, I welcome the new day. May I not rush around so much that I miss the beauty that is all around me. May I thank one person, today. May I smile, more than I frown. May I think loving thoughts, more than self-defeating thoughts. Thank you for this day! We pray for ourselves; for forgiveness and healing and help and give thanks for God’s blessings. We pray for others; for the sick, the lonely and the troubled and give thanks for those who support and love us. O God in your mercy hear our prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen
God of Resurrection Bright Morning Star Lord of the Dance Leap of Faith Stillness of Joy Bless us this day And all who journey with us. Prayer at Night Stay with me Jesus, for the night is at hand and the day is now passed. I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you make me live in safety. Some bible verses which may help you to meditate: The darkness is not dark for you, Lord, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to you. Psalm 139.12
My help comes from God, who made heaven and earth. He will not let you fall. He who watches over you does not slumber or sleep. The Lord will guard you. He is by your side to protect you. Psalm 121.4
Even though I walk through the dark valleys you are with me. Psalm 23
St John says, “God’s light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not put it out.” John 1.9
Jesus says, “Come to me all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11.28
Think of the day that has gone - the things you have done and the people you have met. Think of one thing (at least) that you have enjoyed, and thank God for it. If there is anything that has worried or upset you, tell God about it. What do you think he says to you at the end of the day? Think of those who are on your heart and entrust them to God.
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who wake, or watch or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, give rest to the weary, sustain the dying, calm the suffering, and pity the distressed; all for your love’s sake, O Christ our Redeemer. Amen
May the peace of the night enfold me, so that I may be bathed in love. The love of the Father who made me, the love of the Son who died for me, the love of the Spirit who dwells within me, bless me and keep me. May heaven come close as I sleep this night, and angels surround me with Christ’s pure light. Amen
