A Wedding Blessing
Are you thinking of a wedding blessing? Whether you are just dreaming of a church wedding, or whether your plans are well advanced, the church is here to help you. There is something special about a church wedding that sets it apart from getting married anywhere else, however romantic. It’s your wedding and we can work with you to make it a very special day – personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful. Unfortunately, Spanish law does not allow us to perform the legal formalities, as we do in the UK; you will need to complete a civil ceremony before we can perform a blessing. Since the blessing is not a legal ceremony we can change the service to suit your needs. You may want to use the traditional marriage service with traditional hymns and prayers. You may want to write your own vows and choose music that is important to you both. Readings can be from the Bible or from other sources. For such a special day, we offer a special venue in one of our churches, but if you prefer we may be able to conduct ceremonies in a place of your choosing. More information to help you to plan a meaningful and beautiful church wedding can be found on the Church of England’s wedding website. A wedding blessing service will cost approximately €500. Would you like to renew your wedding vows? Many couples like the idea of renewing their marriage vows to celebrate a special anniversary or to mark the end of a difficult time. We can work with you to arrange a service for you either in church or in another venue. Please note we are in an interregnum at the moment, but hope to find a new Chaplain very soon. |
